Coronavirus: Lockdown in Odisha after Rajasthan, Punjab

Lockdown has also been announced in Odisha after Rajasthan and Punjab due to the rising havoc of Corona virus. In Rajasthan and Punjab the lockdown has been done till 31 March but in Odisha the lockdown has been done till 9 pm on 29 March. According to the order issued by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, everything except ration, vegetable and medicine shops will remain closed. This order states that buses, taxis and autos will not run inside the city. Earlier Rajasthan was the first state to announce the lockdown.




Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has said that in view of Corona virus, the state has ordered lockdown till March 31. All essential government services will continue and shops for essential goods such as food, medicines etc. will remain open. DC and SSP have been instructed to enforce the ban immediately.


Let us tell you that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday instructed for complete lockdown in the state leaving essential services till March 31. He said in a statement that there would be a 'complete lockdown in the state from 22 March to 31 March, barring essential services and medical services to curb the corona virus and keep people safe.
Gehlot took this decision in a high level meeting with top officials. He said that all government offices, mall factories, public transport etc. will remain closed during this period. So far 25 have been found infected with Kovid-19 in the state and reports of 40 others are awaited.

What happens lockdown Lockdown is a kind of emergency. If there is a lockdown in an area then the people of that area are not allowed to leave the houses. Only the things necessary for life are allowed to exit. If one needs medicine or food grains, one can go out or get permission for hospital and bank work. Care of young children and the elderly may also be allowed to go out of work.

Punjab DGP warns on rumors of Kovid-19 Taking strict cognizance of the rumors and fake news being spread on the coronavirus epidemic, Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta on Saturday gave strict warning. He had said that those found involved in such rumors would be punished and strict action would be taken under the relevant provisions of the law. He told that through social media, people are engaged with each other and get information. The Director General warned the people that those found involved in the rumors would be punished.
